Reimagine Aircraft Maintenance with NASA’s RepAir Challenge
College and university teams are invited to propose next-generation maintenance solutions to improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in commercial aviation.

What’s Happening Today!
Welcome to a daily drop from That Black Chemist!
NASA’s Gateways to Blue Skies Competition is inviting student teams to reimagine aircraft maintenance for the future. Participants will propose innovative solutions to improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in commercial aviation. Selected teams can win prizes, gain hands-on experience, and even access NASA internships.
Meanwhile, new research on aspirin is revealing how its benefits vary by age, weight, and health status. While low-dose aspirin can help prevent heart attacks and strokes in some individuals, it may increase bleeding risk in others. Scientists are also investigating aspirin’s potential to reduce chronic inflammation and lower the risk of other conditions.
Stay tuned for more science updates and opportunities from That Black Chemist!

✈️ NASA Gateways to Blue Skies 2026: RepAir
The 2026 Gateways to Blue Skies (GBS) Competition challenges student teams to reimagine aircraft maintenance for a safer, more efficient aviation future. Teams will propose innovative concepts—such as predictive maintenance, 3D-printed parts, automated compliance checks, or advanced monitoring systems—that could be implemented by 2035 or sooner. Finalists will present at NASA’s Langley Research Center and compete for cash prizes and NASA internship opportunities.

🩺 New Insights on Low-Dose Aspirin Use
Recent research is reshaping how doctors view daily low-dose aspirin for heart health. While aspirin can prevent blood clots and lower the risk of heart attacks or strokes, studies show that benefits vary by age, health status, and body weight. Older adults and heavier individuals may not gain protective effects, and daily aspirin can increase bleeding risk.
Scientists are now exploring whether aspirin’s anti-inflammatory properties could offer new benefits, including reducing chronic inflammation linked to obesity and potentially lowering the risk of certain cancers and preterm birth. Experts emphasize that while aspirin remains widely studied, its use should be personalized and discussed with a healthcare provider.

Tip of the Day

🔬 Choosing Between Experimental and Theoretical Research
Both experimental and theoretical research are essential, but knowing which path fits your goals can save time and maximize impact:
Experimental Work: Design and run experiments, collect data, and observe phenomena directly.
Theoretical Work: Focus on models, simulations, and calculations to predict or explain phenomena.
Ask Yourself: “Do I want to test ideas in the real world or explore concepts in depth first?” Your answer helps determine the right balance.
Batch & Automate: Group small tasks together or find tools to handle them so your time goes to work that counts.
⚖️ Focus on outcomes over output because true efficiency comes from spending time where it makes the biggest difference.

Imagine Solving HW Problems 10x Quicker

From my experience studying PhD quantum mechanics, I learned that Chat GPT is not enough for me to independently study STEM subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, and math because:
Chat GPT 5.0 (newest version) limits your free daily conversations.
The website/app routinely shuts down due to maintenance or high traffic.
Chat GPT fails to derive or calculate long proofs in math-heavy problems consistently.
That’s why my successful followers and I switched over to 24houranswer’s Homework Library!
The Homework Library provides lifetime access to over 37k+ pages (and growing) of assignments, lab reports, summaries, projects, and syntax in all major college STEM subjects.
Rather than paying $40/hr for one tutoring session or $20/month for Chat GPT 5.0+, maximize your time, savings, and learning by purchasing the Homework Library here at $59 (50% discount) for lifetime access!
