Explore Biomedical Innovation at the NIH with the BESIP Internship
Undergraduates can spend 10 weeks on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD, conducting cutting-edge biomedical engineering research alongside world-class scientists while receiving mentorship, career development, and hands-on lab experience.

What’s Happening Today!
Welcome to a daily drop from That Black Chemist!
The NIH’s Biomedical Engineering Summer Internship Program (BESIP) is offering undergraduates a 10-week, in-person research experience at the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. Students in various STEM fields can join cutting-edge biomedical projects under NIH scientists while gaining career development support. With two available tracks, the program helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world innovation in medicine.
Meanwhile, NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation’s joint NISAR mission has sent back its first radar images of Earth, revealing forests, wetlands, and farmland in stunning detail. Using both L- and S-band radar, the satellite will monitor land and ice movement to improve understanding of ecosystems, natural disasters, and planetary change.

🌍 NASA and ISRO Reveal First-Ever Radar Images of Earth from Joint NISAR Mission
NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have released the first radar images from the NISAR (NASA–ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite — a breakthrough in global Earth observation. The satellite’s dual L-band and S-band radar systems capture Earth’s surface in unprecedented detail, distinguishing forests, wetlands, crops, and urban structures from orbit.
Images of Maine’s Mount Desert Island and North Dakota’s farmlands showcase NISAR’s ability to track land cover, monitor soil moisture, and detect surface movement — vital for studying natural disasters, agriculture, and climate change.

Tip of the Day

🤝 Find Your Perfect Research Partner
The right lab partner can make your research experience smoother, more productive, and a lot more fun. Here’s how to find someone who complements your working style:
🧭 Match Strengths to Weaknesses: Pair up with someone who balances your skills. If you’re great at analysis but less hands-on, team with an experimentalist.
💬 Test Communication Early: Talk about how you plan, divide work, and handle mistakes. Clear, respectful communication prevents conflict later.
🧠 Align Goals, Not Personalities: You don’t need to be best friends—just share similar motivation and research ethics.
⏰ Check Work Habits: Are they detail-oriented or big-picture focused? Early alignment on pace and precision keeps you efficient.
🌱 Value Growth: Choose someone who challenges you intellectually and helps you learn new techniques, not just someone easy to work with.

Imagine Solving HW Problems 10x Quicker

From my experience studying PhD quantum mechanics, I learned that Chat GPT is not enough for me to independently study STEM subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, and math because:
Chat GPT 5.0 (newest version) limits your free daily conversations.
The website/app routinely shuts down due to maintenance or high traffic.
Chat GPT fails to derive or calculate long proofs in math-heavy problems consistently.
That’s why my successful followers and I switched over to 24houranswer’s Homework Library!
The Homework Library provides lifetime access to over 37k+ pages (and growing) of assignments, lab reports, summaries, projects, and syntax in all major college STEM subjects.
Rather than paying $40/hr for one tutoring session or $20/month for Chat GPT 5.0+, maximize your time, savings, and learning by purchasing the Homework Library here at $59 (50% discount) for lifetime access!
